HealthyHurst
A Community-wide Wellness Program
The City of Hurst began its community-wide wellness initiative, Healthy Hurst on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the Hurst Recreation Center. Participants joined Hurst Mayor, Richard Ward, for a one-mile walk.
Afterward, participants registered for the Healthy Hurst program, toured the Recreation Center, took part in fitness equipment orientations, observed demonstrations of the Healthy Hurst website, and had wellness and nutrition questions answered by the City’s Employee Wellness Coordinator.
Our Healthy Hurst website will assist participants with increasing their personal level of health, wellness, and fitness. The information contained in these links will assist you with meal plans, nutrition information, fitness programs, and a wealth of wellness and health information: Nutrition, Health, Fitness, Just For Kids. In addition, there is no charge to participate in the Healthy Hurst program!
Each participant that registers for the free Healthy Hurst program receives a Healthy Hurst t-shirt at the time of registration.
The Healthy Hurst program is open to all Hurst residents. Non-residents who have purchased a Hurst Recreation Center Annual Pass may also participate. If you are interested in joining the Healthy Hurst program you may register for the program in-person at the Hurst Recreation Center, 700 Mary Drive.
