National Night Out
National Night Out provides information, educational materials, and technical assistance for the development of effective year-long community police partnerships that can reduce crime, violence, and substance abuse at the community level. National Night Out generates community support for anti-crime and anti-drug abuse prevention activities, as well as a high level of community participation. The presence of local law enforcement in the community under the positive circumstances of a National Night Out allows many residents to meet their officers, in many cases for the first time.
You and your family are invited to join the Hurst Police Department as they celebrate America’s Night Out Against Crime! This year’s event was held on Tuesday October 4, 2011. National Night Out provides information, educational materials, and technical assistance for the development of effective year-long partnerships between the police and the community that aim to reduce crime, violence and substance abuse at the community level. National Night Out also generates a high level of community participation and support for crime and drug abuse prevention activities. The presence of local law enforcement in the community under the positive circumstances of National Night Out allows many residents to meet their officers, in many cases for the first time. Of course, the event is free and we encourage residents of all ages to join us.
