The Community Services Unit has two Storefront Offices. They are located at 309 E. Hurst Blvd and in Northeast Mall.
This Unit is responsible for providing the Citizens and Business Owners of Hurst with crime prevention programs and safety presentations designed to enhance the quality of life and deter the occurrence of crime. This unit conducts town hall meetings, neighborhood crime watch meetings, citizen police academies, apartment managers association meetings, bicycle patrols and domestic violence programs. Basketball Camp - July 16 - 20, 2012

The Hurst Police Department proudly announces its 20th annual FREE summer basketball camp! The camp is available to Hurst Residents that will be going into the 5th and 6th grades. The purpose of this camp is to bring police officers and area youth together in a non-confrontational, friendly environment. Campers are taught the basic fundamentals of basketball. Teamwork and respect are highly emphasized by officers during this camp. The camp will be held at the First United Methodist Church Hurst, 530 Elm Street, Monday, July 16 through Friday, July 20. Due to space limitations, only the FIRST 48 applications will be accepted. A free lunch will be provided each day. If you have attended the Basketball Camp previously, you will not be eligible to attend.


PALS Camp - June 11 - 15, 2012

The (PALS) Police Activities League is a summer camp for school age children to provide an alternative week of activities and promote teamwork. Officers are addressed on a first name basis by campers in hopes of establishing a bond as well as making the officers approachable in future encounters. Recently the LD Bell Honor students have been utilized to assist with the camps. PALS camp will be held Monday, June 11 through Friday, June 15 from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. This camp is for students going into the 5th and 6th grades. Due to space limitations, only the first 60 Hurst Resident applications will be accepted.

Online Crime Reports

CrimeReports.com provides law enforcement agencies with an easy-to-use web-based service for sharing of crime data with the public, in near real-time. Citizens can then access their neighborhood crime information for free. Crime incidents are categorized into 15 general crime types and 21 subcategories of crime and calls for service activity to include such things as assaults, burglaries, disturbances, and more. The site also provides information regarding registered sex offenders. You can also sign up to have crime alerts sent to your email account. Access the site.

 

Traffic Complaint Form

If you see a traffic violation in the City of Hurst and want to report, you can now submit it on-line. Please go to traffic complaint form to report speeders, abandoned vehicles, parking violation or any other traffic violations.

Unused cell phones can be used for 911 calls. The Hurst Police Community Services at 309 E Hurst Blvd is accepting any unused cell phones and chargers. The phones must have the charger or we cannot use it. We distribute these phones to senior citizens as well as victims of family violence.
