Information for Applicants

Application

Prospective City of Hurst, Texas applicants may obtain an application form from the Personnel Division, 1505 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, Texas 76054, and submit the application to that address, or download the application here. (pdf - 76kb).
Our policy is to only accept applications for specific vacancies as they occur. Unsolicited resumes will be returned. All applicants will be notified of their application status as soon as possible. The Personnel Office fax number is (817)788-7024.

Testing

Pre-employment qualification assessment testing may be required for vacant positions including, but not limited to, written tests, skills tests or truth verification. If an applicant requires accommodation for the testing process, the applicant must notify Personnel when the application is submitted. Failure to meet City guidelines will result in rejection of application.

Qualifications

Qualifications given in the job postings represent only the minimum qualifications necessary to perform the job, and interview preference is given to the most qualified applicants, who may possess more specific education and/or experience than is given in a particular job posting.

Medical Examination

If offered employment, a post-offer physical examination and drug test are required. Any offer of employment will be conditioned upon the results of the post-offer physical examination and drug test. Failure to meet City guidelines will result in the rejection of the application.

Review of Driving Records

The City will review the driving records of all individuals applying for positions which require the operation of a City vehicle on public roads while conducting business for the City. Identity and Eligibility Verification

Upon employment, all new employees are required, within 3 business days of beginning employment, to produce original legal documents to establish identity and employment eligibility.

Applicants are considered for positions without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, veteran status, disability, or citizenship. The City of Hurst may conduct pre-employment qualification assessment testing. If you require accommodation for the testing process, you must notify Personnel when you submit your application.
